All seedlings start out with the ability to scavenge: to use their hands to collect materials, affect the world around them, and to feed themselves. As seeds learn more about the world of TUG, they will discover new ways of fashioning implements, collecting materials, practicing arts and skills, and building structures. Often, this knowledge builds on itself: until a seed has learned how to scavenge and then use found tools, they won't be able to collect the materials they need to create or work with bronze.

Technology Ladder[edit]

  1. Scavenging is the act of harvesting or affecting the world with just the Seed's hands. Tools, found or crafted, are not required.
  2. Found Tools are natural resources that can be used as tools without modification or crafting. They are not as powerful as crafted tools, but can affect more objects than can the seed's hands.
  3. Stone Age technology is the first level of crafted tools and weapons. They are "crude" in that they are the weakest and most easily damaged of all tools and weapons.
  4. Bronze Age technology requires Metallurgy skills and knowledge and therefore produces more sophisticated tools and weapons that are twice as durable and deal greater amounts of damage than Stone Age tools and weapons. In addition they can be repaired using a Stone Anvil and a Bronze Hammer.
